PPI takes the privacy of your personal data very seriously and complies strictly with the provisions of the data-protection laws. Personal data are only collected by this website to a technically-necessary extent.
The following declaration provides an overview of how we ensure data protection and the nature of the data we collect, and the purposes for which we collect them.
Data processing on the website
When you visit our website, our web servers save by default: your Internet Service Provider (ISP), the website from which you visit us, the web pages which you visit on our website, as well as the date and duration of the visit.
These data are evaluated for statistical purposes and cannot be matched to specific identifiable persons. These data are not combined with data from other data sources.
In a number of places, our website uses so-called cookies to improve the user-friendliness, efficacy and security of the website. Cookies are small files which are deposited on your computer and saved in your browser. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses.
You can prevent cookies from being saved on your computer by configuring your browser accordingly. This may, however, restrict the functional scope of our offering.
Statistics and analysis
In order to optimize this website, we use the open source web analysis tool, PIWIK, which collects data about website visits and saves this collected information on our server in Germany. These data may be used to create usage profiles under a pseudonym (alias); cookies are used for this purpose. Without your consent, the data collected with PIWIK will not be used to identify you personally as a visitor to this website. Your IP address is rendered anonymous before being stored.
Products and services of WirdeMinds AG (“WiredMinds”) are used on this website for marketing and optimization purposes. In doing so, data are collected, processed and saved for creating user profiles under a pseudonym. Wherever possible and constructive, the user profiles are rendered fully anonymous. Cookies may be used for this purpose. The collected data, which may also contain personal data, are transmitted to WiredMinds or collected directly by WiredMinds. WiredMinds may use information left behind by website visits to create aliased user profiles. Without the data subject’s expressly furnished consent, the thus-acquired data will not be used to personally identify this website’s visitors, nor will the data be combined with personal data of the pseudonym’s holder. Insofar as IP addresses are collected, they are aliased immediately after collection by deletion of the last octet of numbers.
You may withdraw your consent to the data collection, processing and storage at any time for future effect by clicking on the following link: Disable website tracking.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
You can refuse the use of Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set on the computer, which prevents the future collection of your data when visiting this website:
Disable Google Analytics
Further information concerning the terms and conditions of use and data privacy can be found at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/gb.html or at https://www.google.de/intl/en_uk/policies/. Please note that on this website, Google Analytics code is supplemented by “anonymizeIp” to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses (so called IP masking).
Facebook Social Plugins
This website uses social plugins (“plugins”) provided by the social network facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins can be identified by a Facebook logo (white letter “f” on blue background, or a thumb-up icon) or the notice “Facebook Social Plugin”. For a list and the appearance of the Facebook social plugins please click here.
When you visit a page of this website that contains such a social plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. Facebook transfers the plugin content directly to your browser which embeds the latter into the website. The provider thus has no influence on the scope of the data that Facebook gathers with this plugin and informs users to the best of its knowledge:
The embedded plugins provide Facebook with the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of the website. If you are logged into Facebook, your visit can be assigned to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” button, or entering a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted from your browser directly to Facebook and saved there. Even if you are not a Facebook member, there is still a possibility of Facebook identifying and saving your IP address. According to Facebook, only aliased IP addresses are saved in Germany.
If you are a Facebook member and do not want Facebook to collect data concerning your visit to our website and combine these with your member data already stored by Facebook, you should log off Facebook before visiting our website.
Here, too, it is possible to block Facebook social plugins using add-ons for your browser, e.g. using the Facebook blocker.
Google+ +1 button
This website uses the +1 button of the social network Google Plus operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”). The button can be recognized by the “+1” sign on a white or colored background.
When you visit a page of this website that contains such a button, your browser establishes a direct connection to Google’s servers. Google directly transfers the content of the +1 button to your browser which embeds the latter into the website. The provider thus has no influence on the scope of the data that Google gathers with this button. According to Google, no personal data are collected if the button is not clicked. Such data, including the IP address, are only gathered and processed for users who are logged in.
XING Share button
This website also uses the XING Share button. When you visit this website, your browser establishes a brief connection to the XING AG servers which implement the XING Share button functions (notably calculation/display of the counter value). XING does not save any personal data relating to your website visit. In particular, XING does not save any IP addresses. Nor are cookies used in connection with the XING Share button to evaluate your user behavior.
The latest data privacy information on the “XING Share” button as well as supplementary information can be found by clicking here.
This website uses the buttons of the service Twitter. These buttons are offered by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. They can be recognized by terms such as “Twitter” or “Follow” in combination with a stylized blue bird. These buttons can be used to share a contribution or page of this website on Twitter, or to follow the supplier on Twitter.
When you visit a page of this website that contains such a button, your browser establishes a direct connection to Twitter’s servers. Twitter transfers the content of the Twitter buttons directly to your browser which embeds the latter into the website. The provider thus has no influence on the scope of the data that Twitter gathers with this plugin and informs users according to the best of its knowledge.
According to this, only the user’s IP address and the URL of the web page calling the button are transmitted when the button is clicked, but solely for the purpose of displaying the button.
LinkedIn Share button
On our website, you will find plugins of the social network LinkedIn, respectively the LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“LinkedIn”). The LinkedIn plugins can be recognized by the relevant logo or the “Recommended” button. Please note that, when you visits our website, the plugin establishes a connection from your respective Internet browser to the LinkedIn server. LinkedIn is thus informed that our website was visited from your IP address. If you click the LinkedIn “Recommended” button while logged into your LinkedIn account, you can link content of our web pages to your LinkedIn profile page. In this way, you enable LinkedIn to link your visit to our website with yourself/your user account. Please be aware that we have no information whatsoever on the content of the transmitted data and how they are used by LinkedIn.
For further details of data collection as well as your legal and configuration options, please refer to LinkedIn at http://www.linkedin.com/static?key=privacy_policy&trk=hb_ft_priv.
